the digital orange photo blog I like to think of myself as a tuxedo t-shirt because I want to be formal, but really I'm here to party.

I'm Mike Cunningham and this is my photo blog.

7-11 is a rather special day for me.  It happens to be the day Little Nance brought me into this world.  Scholars maintain my mom loved Slurpees so much back in the day that she was induced on 7-11.  She may argue that's not the case, but we all know the truth Mom :)

My dear friend Shauna Lewis planned an amazing party for my big day.  Obviously we went with a 7-11 theme and managed to turn the front yard into a mini-7-11 store.  Hot dogs, nachos, taquitos, frozen burritos and enough Hershey's candy (thx A$) to give you ten muffin tops.  Word to the wise.....you should hire Shauna to plan your next big event.  She will blow your lid like a hot plate of nachos and jalapenos.

Okay Mike Melissa and Brian's pictures are amazing. I too love the Amtrak pciture, but I also really like the one with the wedding party at the temple with the tall bushy trees. I commented up here because I totally know Shauna Lewis. I went to high school in Folsom with her older siblings. She did an awesome job on your party. I hope you had a great birthday.

Brian and Melissa may look familiar to you from the super rad eSession we did a few months back.  As luck would have it, I found myself partying with the Bride and Groom again on their wedding day with camera in hand.

B&M are sooooo rad.  Here's how it went down:

Reception at Franciscan Gardens, San Juan Capistrano
All flowers done by the Bride's talented sister, Brittany.

After we finished at the Temple, we took a quick jaunt down to Victoria Beach in Laguna for some portraits on the beach.  I'm soooo stoked on how the colors turned out.  Not bad for 2pm in the afternoon.  Boom.

The next stop was in San Juan Capistrano.  They picked a venue that was a stones throw from the train station and some rad spots for pictures.

That last image with the train blows my mind.  If I were Brian and Melissa, that would be a MASSIVE portrait in my house.  I'd be that vain :)

Every great wedding has amazing details.  Check out these.

There may or may not have been a few wedding crashers on site.  I was able to snag a few pictures to document their existence.

And.....the reception was a blast.

Congrats B&M!  You are going to rock the world with your awesomeness.

The train photo should be published in a magazine. It is one of my favorites because it is so original and captures so much joy and happiness. Good job Mike!

7-11 has always been a special day.  Not only is it the name of America's greatest convenience store and the Slurpee, but it is also my birthday.  I hope you all enjoyed a free Slurpee on me :)  Best part though was listening to my nephews sing happy birthday to me on the phone.  Love them to pieces.  Thank you to all who made this year so great.

We turned our front yard into a 7-11 convenience store, thanks to Shauna and several other honorable mentions (MS, AS, MM, SO, HW, J"B"B, ME).  Plenty of rad pics to follow.

Thanks for 28 years of joy to our family. Only wish I could've been there to celebrate with you and your friends. Sounds like it was a party of extreme proportions...typical fashion for Michael. Thanks to all the awesome friends who made this a special day. Shauna: you are a champion! Happy Happy Happy Birthday and Lots of Luv to you.

Dude, this pic looks like it must have been taking when you were still growing up in the OC, in irvine, in the house on the corner, with the iron gate. Happy birthday boof.

Ben:

Sorry I missed your birthday, man. No excuses - just apologies. I am the worst friend ever. Hope it was rocking. I am looking forward to the pictures.

Shauna decided to throw another awesome party.  Zach, our beloved friend highlighted by the orange arrow below, decided to have another birthday.  Zach is a manly man, so Shauna made it a "man" themed party.  I'm just glad the party wasn't all dudes, which happens around here from time to time.

Check out the decor and treats she came up with.

ZachParty_0005.jpg
Sugar cookie fries, "ketchup" frosting, better than heavy petting cake, and a globe.  Not sure how that comes into play, but Shauna will.  Ask her.  :)

A little something to wash it down.  Scholars maintain Henry Weinhard was a Mormon, that's why his Root Beer is so good.  That may or may not be a highly fictitious statement.

I think they should call these "Cuban Pretzels."  Fidel would love these.

Chocolate Meatballs.  YUUUUUUUMMMM!

Just a quick reminder of how good the sugar cookie french fries were.

The birthday boy Zach.  Fun fact - I forgot to take a good pic of Zach at the party so I had to pull this one from the archives.  Shame on me.

Happy Birthday Zach.

Ryan Smart:

Sugar Cookie Fries??? I don't care if I am married and never know your friends. When there are sweet confectionaries such as these I need an invite. That looks like the coolest party ever.

Shauna:

Oh Mike, that picture of Nephi is awesome. Good one. Thanks again, these are great.

Jeff Brown is not my uncle.  He is; however, an uncle to some rad miniature humans.  His nieces and nephews came down last week for his birthday party.  We had a great time BBQ'in, watching the USA fall apart vs. Brazil and playing with the kids in the street.

Here's a few for Darrel and Lise :)

These two are not Jeff's nieces.  Just want to make sure we are all on the same page here.

JBbirthday_08.jpgI'm pretty sure he learned this one from his Aunt Ashly, or maybe Uncle Drew, who probably learned it from Cody, but definitely not Uncle Jeff.
