the digital orange photo blog I like to think of myself as a tuxedo t-shirt because I want to be formal, but really I'm here to party.

It was once rumored that Kevin Costner was able to Dance with Wolves.  Ever since that day I have been jealous.  Since there aren't any wolves here in Huntington Beach, I decided my next best bet would be dolphins.

I have this friend.  Her name is Sara.  Sara is awesome.  Not only does she share my same passion for wolves, but she also knows how to dance with dolphins.  She was kind enough to invite me on her "boat" (the Ritz Carlton on water) and show me the way to dolphin-land.  This is our story.

Capri_01.jpgOur ride.  80+ feet of Mari-good-times.

Capri_05.jpgShoes are not allowed on the boat.  Can you guess which are mine?  I'll give you a hint....they're not the Tory Burch knock-offs.

Capri_07.jpgShauna was looking rather Shavy.

Even Samurai warriors like to be nautical.  Ladies, he is single and his room smells of rich mahogany.

Capri_21.jpgHW and the Sebra.  Gems in human form.

Capri_28.jpgI believe this was Diversity.

Capri_36.jpgOh Sarah....just loungin' on the starboard bow.

Capri_40.jpgB Parker.  Party.

Capri_56.jpgBrandon.  Party.

Capri_41.jpgOn the big boat, passing the small boat.

Capri_65.jpgPatiently gazing into the sunset, hoping for that chance to dance with dolphins.

Capri_72.jpgAnd then they appeared.  It was as if they had been waiting all day.  The swam next to the boat for about 15 minutes.  A very cool experience indeed.  Did I dance with one?  Negative.  Those dolphins play hard to get.  So typical.

Popping out of the water for a little face time.  Super rad to be that close.

Capri_75.jpgI shot this with my 24mm wide-angle lens.  That's how close they were.  Kevin Costner will be so proud.

I dig the new blog look. I also love catching glimpses of my tomodachi. Glad you're keeping him company. Say 'konnichiwa' to him for me, k? Oh, and nice shots.

I'm headed up to Utah tonight.  I'm doing a photobooth for the Tooele High School 10-year reunion tomorrow in Salt Lake City.  I'm so stoked.

For all you Utah peeps, I'll be back up the end of July and will have some time to do a few portrait / engagement / family sessions.  Send me an email if you're interested.

Here's a few shots I took recently with my Holga camera.  I shot all of these on Kodak E 100 VS slide film (yes I shoot film from time to time believe it or not) and then had them cross-processed.  Enjoy.

32950012 copy.jpgE Hawley - a true friend and lover of peace.  War Dav is a lucky man.

Ate here tonight.  It was delicious.  I highly recommend the beef bulgogi, even if you're not into Korean food.  Arin was a good sport and came with Pete and me.  She even ate the dead fish :)

Wow, I'm way behind.

I had some special visitors Mother's Day weekend.  Both of my "Mothers" decided to come visit me in HB a few weeks back.  We had a great time.

If any of you blog readers out there have ever met my Mom "Little Nance" or Lauren "Mom #2" you'll understand when I say they are top-notch, A-Grade, Best of the Bestest ladies there are.  They even painted my room :)

Love you both and thanks again for coming to visit.  Don't forget to take your flowers home next time.

momsis.jpgAren't they Presh??  Yes....love them.

MothersDay_0020 copy.jpgSister is really into birds and stuff these days - and Prada.

MothersDay_0033 copy.jpgA great shot of me and Mom #2 taken by Mom #1

MothersDay_0001 copy.jpgJustin is not my Mom in any way shape or form.  He did however, hang with us for the weekend and is a great friend.

Peace.

First things first, your family is darling.

Secondly, you dirty dog! You recycled your mom and sisters flowers on me????!!!! Rude!

Mike - Father of the Blog:

Shav - that is the rudest thing you could say. Those flowers to you and Ree were a gift from the bottom of my heart and you just threw them back in my face. I'll never forget this

(06.01.09)
Ree:

i hope you didn't kiss your mom like that for mother's day too.

(06.01.09)
Mam:

It was indeed a SUPER FUN weekend in beautiful OC spending some quality time with you, Mike, Lauren, and some awesome friends. Let's do it again soon. Oh, and by the looks of my photos ... I think it's time for a facelift! RATS, I hate getting old!!! The flowers were beautiful girls - glad they didn't go to waste :)

(06.02.09)
Ben:

Nance - you don't need a facelift! You should have your own reality show - Hot Real Estate Moms of South SLC.

I never thought I'd be on a boat.  It's a big blue watery road.  Everybody look at me cause I'm sailing on a boat

I'll be cruising to Astoria Oregon, Victoria BC and Vancouver BC for the next 7 days.  I will have very limited access to email during that time.  However, look forward to some sickie new pics on the blog in the coming weeks.  I may or may not have picked up a new camera just for this trip.

Camera count for the trip: 6
Is that too much?  I submit that it is not.
Peace, love, and T-Pain.
